Dr. Salwa Azar
Dr. Salwa Azar is an instructor at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine.
She specializes in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism as well as treatment of Obesity.
Her main interest is in counseling patients on subjects such as diet hygiene and other areas of preventative maintenance for problems such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis. She is experienced in diagnosing and managing diabetes, calcium and bone disorders, infertility, follow up of patients undergoing bariatric surgery as well as thyroid, pituitary and adrenal diseases. She is also experienced in diagnosing and treating patients with short stature after her clinical elective rotation in Pediatric Endocrinology at Rafik Hariri University Hospital.
Dr. Azar earned her medical degree at the Lebanese University School of Medicine in 2015. She completed an Internal Medicine residency in 2018 as well as a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in 2020 at the Lebanese University School of Medicine.
Dr. Salwa Azar has contributed to multiple peer reviewed articles. She has been part of numerous awareness campaigns organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. She is currently pursuing a University Diploma in Dietetics and Therapeutic Nutrition at Paris VII Xavier Bichat University, Faculty of Medicine.
