Faculty, residents, and nurses from both medical centers convened this Saturday, March 16th, for a coaching session led by Coach Samir Zahil. The session focused on enhancing patient care and personal development by addressing communication skills, stress management techniques, and maintaining positivity in the demanding work environment.

The LAU Anesthesiology Department had the honor of hosting Dr. Musa Muallem on April 12, 2024. Dr. Muallem, a Professor Emeritus at AUB, is a distinguished figure in Lebanon’s anesthesia history, celebrated both nationally and internationally for his groundbreaking inventions and patents. He has served as a pivotal mentor to numerous members of the anesthesiology community, including many within the LAU department. In a gesture of generosity, Dr. Muallem donated two “Muallem Jet Ventilators” to our department. A small gathering was held in the presence of the anesthesiology team and Dr. Adnan Awdeh, Chief Medical Officer of LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital.

Today, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, we are thrilled to announce the launching of the BIOFIRE machine in collaboration with BIOTECK. The event took place in a roundtable discussion titled “Optimizing Patient Care: Role of Syndromic Testing.”

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, we celebrated Mother’s Day by hosting a tour at our hospital, where we displayed signs featuring classic sayings from moms, while distributing gifts to show our appreciation.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, our Food Services department created a unique cookie especially for the new moms in our Maternity ward, adding a sweet touch to their special day.

On Wednesday, March 20th, our hospital welcomed Al-Younbouh NGO for a special presentation by their talented students. The event not only celebrated their achievements but also raised crucial funds to empower children with special needs.

The students have actively engaged with one of our medical center’s fundamental values by leaving a visible mark on the board outlining how they intend to integrate this value into both their personal lives and future professional pursuits. This gesture highlights their recognition of the value’s importance and their determination to embody it in all aspects of their lives, fostering a culture of compassion, excellence, and ethical conduct.

On Friday, March 15, 2024, at LAU Medical Center Saint John’s Hospital, we commemorated Patient Safety Awareness Week, an annual event that ran from March 10th to March 16th, 2024, under the theme “Safer Together.” Our objective was to highlight the importance of patient safety and promote a culture of patient safety within our institution.

On Sunday March 10, we joined forces with SAID NGO at the Biel Waterfront walkathon to raise awareness about Colon Cancer, especially during March, dedicated to raising awareness about this crucial issue. Together, we’re committed to making a meaningful impact in the battle against Colon Cancer.
